Summer Reading
Dear Parent,
Did you know that when kids don't read over the summer they are likely to fall behind when they head back to school? These learning losses are often called the "Summer Slide," and our school has made it a priority to keep our students' skills sharp by encouraging them to read all summer long.
Our Students should read as many books as possible this summer. I have added a summer reading log at the top of the page that can be downloaded. Students may take AR tests on the books that they have read when they return to school in September.

They may take notes on the books they read to help them remember what the book was about. I have given a list of suggestions that have come from out sixth grade students.

To check if a book is an AR book you can go to ARbook Finder.com there is a link to it on my home page. Students should try to read books within their AR level. This will insure that they will understand what they are reading.

I hope you have an awesome summer and enjoy the great books you read!

See you in September......
