POINT OF VIEW:  Who is Telling the Story?

Point-of view refers to the way the author tells the story.  When an author tells a story using the third-person point of view, the story is eing told by a narrator (someone who is not a character in the story) who lets the reader know what the characters are think, feeling, and doing.  When the author uses the first-person point-of view, it means the story is told bey one of the characters in the story.

Which point-of- view was used to tell this story?  Give two examples from the text to support your opinion.

The story Mr. Terupt is written in first person.  In the story, Peter said, "Icouldn't believe it."  Luke said, " I get all A's."  Both of these quotes use the pronoun "I" showing that the author is using first person to tell the story.
